The Piedmont hills are concentrated in the central part of the region. They include those of Monferrato and Langhe, places of vivid beauty,that produce some of the most prestigious wines in the world. The Piedmont Region has candidated the “Typical wine landscapes of Piedmont” (Langhe, Monferrato, Roero) to become part of the UNESCO World Heritage List, the recognition that protects and enhances places of exceptional importance, both natural and cultural.
